it’s easy to find even if it’s your first time in the area.
The dining room is fairly spacious, so it works well for group dinners,
and there’s even an outdoor terrace, which means you can enjoy that open-air Korean dining vibe in any season.

Hi friends 🙂
I’m back with a Jeju gopchang spot that was seriously satisfying.
Not near Jeju City Hall and not in Nohyeong either—this local gem is in Ara-dong, Jeju City: Ujeong Gopchang Ara Branch.
I’m the kind of person who’s always hunting down great Jeju gopchang, and this is absolutely the kind of place I’d come back to 100%.
I’m officially adding it to my trusted list of Jeju restaurants, local favorites, and best places to eat in Jeju City.

The assorted platter comes loaded with gopchang (beef small intestines), daechang (large intestines), makchang (tripe), teukyang (premium beef tripe), and yeomtong (beef heart), so if you love mixed offal, it’s fun to try each cut one by one.
They said the ingredients are supplied directly from the Juchon livestock wholesale market in Gimhae.
And honestly, you can really taste the difference in freshness.

Assorted Gopchang Review
The second I walked in, I noticed the AC was blasting, so even in summer it felt cool and comfortable.
Another big plus: the staff grill and cut everything for you, so you can just relax and eat without worrying about overcooking anything.
The recommended order is yeomtong, then teukyang, then gopchang, and finally makchang/daechang.
Even the sizzling sound on the grill was enough to make me hungry.

The yeomtong had the best chewy texture.
They told me to eat the yeomtong first because it gets tough if you leave it on the grill too long—which honestly feels like the golden rule.
What I loved most was that this Jeju gopchang had absolutely none of that unpleasant off smell.
Instead of the boiled-intestine smell you sometimes get elsewhere, this had the clean, rich flavor of fresh gopchang, and that really set it apart.
Once everything is partially cooked, they add garlic chives on top,
and when you eat the chives with the gopchang, special sauce, and vegetables, it’s the kind of combo that makes you want a bowl of rice immediately.

If you run out of vegetables or side dishes, there’s a self-serve bar, so refills are easy.

They also bring out hangover soup on the house, and it’s packed with ingredients—honestly on par with some dedicated haejangguk spots.
The broth has a nice spicy kick, and it made me want a shot of soju right away, so this place also works perfectly if you’re looking for a Jeju drinking spot.

The kimchi noodle soup was super refreshing too, and taking a bite of noodles between pieces of gopchang was such a good combo.
If I had to name one downside, it’s that they don’t have fried rice on the grill plate.
That said, the spicy kkakdugi yang-bap makes a pretty solid substitute.
Still, personally, I did miss ending the meal with classic Korean fried rice on the hot plate.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the gopchang was chewy, packed with rich fat, and completely free of any off smell—the savory flavor was incredible.
The staff were kind, and since they grill everything for you, I think this is one of the best Jeju gopchang places even for first-timers.
There’s plenty of seating for groups, plus an outdoor terrace, so it also works really well for company dinners in Jeju.
It also has that perfect Jeju soju-bar feel if you just want to sit down for drinks and good food.
It’s the kind of place I’d think of on a casual night out or anytime I’m wondering where to go for dinner in Jeju.

Things to Know Before You Go
Last order is 10:30 PM, so if you go too late, you might miss out.
You’ll need to use a nearby public parking lot, so I’d recommend arriving with a little extra time.
If you want to book it for a group gathering or company dinner in Jeju, it’s best to call ahead.
They don’t have fried rice on the grill plate, so for your finishing dish, go with the kkakdugi yang-bap or yeolmu guksu.
If you’ve been looking for a local favorite in Ara-dong,
and if you want a truly local-style gopchang restaurant in Jeju City, I highly recommend Ujeong Gopchang Ara Branch. I’d gladly come back again—it was that good 🙂
That’s it for today’s Jeju gopchang review.
If I find another great Jeju restaurant, I’ll be back with that too!
If you’re ever passing through Ara-dong, definitely stop by at least once 🙂
