Today’s spot is a local favorite in Dodu, Jeju that people keep recommending by word of mouth:
a Jeju restaurant and drinking spot that really lives up to the hype.
Dodu Kkeutjip

It’s just a short drive from Jeju International Airport, which makes it an easy pick for either your first meal on the island or your final stop before heading home.

If you want to make the most of your last night near Jeju Airport, this is exactly the kind of place you should have on your list.

Starting with the location, this place sits on Doduhangseo-gil and absolutely deserves a spot on any Jeju Airport restaurant list.

You’ve also got Iho Tewoo Beach, Dodu Port, and the colorful Dodu Rainbow Coastal Road nearby,
so it’s perfect for a quick walk before or after dinner and drinks.

What I especially loved was the oceanfront mood by Dodu Port right outside—it really makes it sink in that you’re in Jeju.

It’s the kind of place where you can take in a Jeju sunset and the island’s night sea in one sweep.

The dining room itself is small and cozy.

Instead of flashy decor, it leans into warm wood tones and a comfortable, intimate feel.
It almost feels like a quiet little hideaway you’d stumble across in a back alley in Seoul.
That said, the space is a bit tight for a big group,
but for smaller gatherings, reservations are definitely possible, so keep that in mind.
If you’re visiting with family or a group of friends, I’d recommend booking ahead.

Side Dishes

The basic banchan started with pickled radish.
Since the owner makes it in-house, it tasted noticeably better than the usual kind.
It paired so well with the food that we kept asking for refills.

The signature dish disappeared so fast I didn’t even manage to get a proper photo: muntigi.

At Dodu Kkeutjip, the signature same-day butchered muntigi is a must.
I was honestly shocked twice—first by how beautiful the marbling was,
and second by the fact that meat this gorgeous almost feels unfair.
It’s only available on Thursdays and Fridays, which is a little sad,
but that also means the freshness is on another level.
The second it hit my mouth, that soft yet pleasantly chewy texture had everyone reaching in faster with their chopsticks.
It disappeared so quickly that photos were basically impossible.
Apparently there’s another signature dish here too, and I still haven’t tried it.

Next time, I really want to order one of their other standout dishes:
raw sweet shrimp, Korean beef yukhoe, and yukhoe beef brisket wraps.

The Korean beef chili japchae didn’t seem that spicy at first, but it slowly built up in the best way.

On the first bite, I thought, wait, this isn’t spicy at all,
but the more I chewed, the more the heat crept in and made me keep going back for another bite.

It’s exactly the kind of flavor that makes you want a shot of soju.

And because I needed something to balance that heat, the bacon cheese potato pancake was perfect.

After the spicy Korean beef chili japchae, the rich, slightly indulgent bacon cheese potato pancake could be a little polarizing for some people,
but one bite of it after all that spice
and suddenly the plate was gone too.

If you want something that feels like a proper hangover cure, go for the beef brisket ramen.

If the first two dishes don’t feel like enough, definitely add an order of beef brisket ramen.
Usually when I see beef brisket ramen, I expect a heavy layer of oil floating on top and sometimes a meaty smell,
but that wasn’t the case here at all—hardly greasy, and almost no off flavors.
The beef brisket and spicy ramen broth worked so well together that it somehow felt comforting and cleansing at the same time,
and before I knew it, I was ready to order another round of soju.

We still weren’t done, so the perfect three-part combo came next: whelk & jjolmyeon.

Since we had a few people at the table, it felt wrong to stop too early, so we ordered the whelk & jjolmyeon too.
The noodles were springy, the whelk was plump, and visually it already looked like a winner.

Once you toss those chewy noodles with the owner’s house-made sauce,
then grab a bite with the whelk, the sweet, tangy, and spicy flavors really dance together.
And somehow, while you’re busy enjoying it, the bowl empties itself.

For the grand finale, we ordered the shiitake-stuffed fried squid.

At first, when I saw the name, I assumed the shiitake and squid would come separately.
But it’s actually shiitake mushrooms stuffed generously with minced squid, then fried.

The crisp coating, chewy shiitake, and tender squid filling all worked beautifully together,
and we kept dipping each piece into soy sauce and eating them one after another.

Downsides and Review Event

If there’s one downside that’s not really a downside, it’s that you can’t get the same-day butchered muntigi whenever you want.
But honestly, that just shows how seriously they take freshness.
Another “problem” is that the owners are almost too kind.
Their hospitality makes you want to keep ordering more dishes.
We left feeling genuinely well taken care of.

Right now, Dodu Kkeutjip is also running a pretty great review event.
1. Spend over $44 in cash and leave a Naver review to receive 1 guaranteed raffle ticket.
2. Post on Instagram as well and you’ll get 1 extra raffle ticket.
-Ends when supplies run out-

And if you write a Naver review, they’re also giving out a Jim Beam Highball.
So if you’re drinking anyway, don’t forget to leave a review and grab that Jim Beam Highball too.

A Place for Special Memories

To wrap it up, if you’re looking for a Jeju Airport restaurant or bar near Jeju Airport,
Dodu Kkeutjip is more than enough to end your trip on a high note.
I didn’t get to try the raw sweet shrimp that day,
but from other guests’ reviews, it sounds neatly prepared with no fishy taste at all.
People also say it has that fresh, pleasantly chewy bite you want.
Next time I visit, raw sweet shrimp is definitely on my list.
