Haeilli Cafe Review: Ocean Views of Seongsan Ilchulbong and Udo in Jeju, South Korea

Haeilli is a Seongsan Ilchulbong cafe where you can take in both Seongsan Ilchulbong and Udo across the water in one sweeping view.

This spot used to be Orda Cafe!
But after the renovation, it feels completely refreshed with a whole new look.

A Look Around Haeilli, a Jeju Ocean View Cafe

Haeilli Cafe uses an adorable character icon that’s somewhere between a hippo and a horse.
Either way, it’s ridiculously cute.

There’s also a Haeilli four-cut photo booth by the entrance, similar to the popular Korean instant photo booths.
I didn’t try it myself this time, but it definitely felt like a fun little keepsake to remember the visit.

Haeilli Cafe is split across the first and second floors.
You place your order on the first floor.
We visited around 6 PM, and there was even a notice for 30% off.
It looked like a great place to go all in on the bakery selection, but we had already eaten, so we kept it light with drinks and cake.

Once you order and head upstairs, the second floor opens up to a much wider view, and you really get to see the full scale of Haeilli.
With Seongsan Ilchulbong and Udo visible at a glance, this Seongsan ocean view cafe absolutely lives up to the hype.
Just sitting there and taking it all in made me feel like I could finally breathe a little deeper.
That said, maybe it was just me, but the second floor felt a bit warm.

The menu was a little disappointing, though.

The Aurora Lemon Ade and Cacao Latte looked absolutely beautiful.
Honestly, the drinks were gorgeous.

Before even taking a sip, I was already walking around and filming the Haeilli ocean view.

But once I actually tasted them, the drinks felt a little bland overall,
and the cakes seemed dry across the board.
On top of that, the cream started sliding off the cake the second I removed the cake collar, which was a bit of a letdown.

Still, the Deep Dark Chocolate cake was sweet and dense, and I finished it in no time.
I just told myself the view was part of the price of admission, and honestly, I still enjoyed the visit.

Beautiful Jeju ocean views no matter where you take a photo

If you’re traveling around Seongsan in Jeju, this is one of those famous Seongsan ocean view cafes where people say you’re only seeing half the experience if you skip the photos at Haeilli.
Right in front of the cafe, there’s a grassy lawn that opens straight out to the wide, beautiful blue sea of Jeju.

Tourist mode: activated

One of the signature photo spots at Haeilli, this Seongsan Ilchulbong cafe in Jeju, is the sky stairs, where it really feels like you’re stepping closer to the clouds.

There’s also a sky swing where you can take photos with Seongsan Ilchulbong in the background.

Between sitting outside in the breeze and making the rounds at all the photo spots, I found myself fully switching into tourist mode without even realizing it.

If you want to add one more ocean view cafe to your Jeju itinerary, this place is honestly hard to beat.

Things to Know Before You Visit

The outdoor tables aren’t exceptionally clean.
So if that matters to you, I’d recommend giving the table a quick wipe before sitting down.

When I visited in April, the pool wasn’t open yet,
and I haven’t been able to confirm whether it’s operating now.
If I go back later, I’d love to check out the pool then.

The drinks and desserts were a little underwhelming, but if you’re looking for a Seongsan Ilchulbong cafe
and a Jeju ocean view cafe with an amazing setting,
Haeilli Cafe in Seongsan is still worth adding to your list.
